The Burnhams Tennis Club was founded in June 1989, and was opened by Viscount Coke. The courts cost £19,000 which was raised in less than a year with a grant from the District Council, a loan from the LTA, and £6,000 raised in donations from the local community. Since then the club has raised funds to maintain the courts to a very high standard including the instillation of floodlights with a grant from the Lottery £5,000, the balance of £12,000 raised from club activities.
The club at present has 115 members and welcomes visitors to play. Courts are bookable at Bruce & Co, accountants, Ulph Place, Burnham Market at £5.00 per hour per court for visitors.
