North Norfolk’s Beautiful Beaches
Burnham Market’s central position on the North Norfolk Coast is perfect for exploring the beautiful beaches nearby.
- Firstly, and probably the most well know, is Holkham beach. Access to Holkham Beach is via Lady Anne’s Drive on the A149 , just opposite the Victoria Hotel. It is approximately a mile down Lady Anne’s Drive to Holkham Bay, which, with its spectacular expanse of beach, offers visitors an opportunity to walk for as many miles as they choose. Paid parking is available on Lady Anne’s Drive.
Access to Brancaster beach is located down a small minor road off the A149 coast road, signpostedfrom the centre of Brancaster village, next to the church. There is a large car park at the bottom of the beach road – but beware, the road can flood at high tide so check your tide times before you visit.
Approximately 6 miles form Burnham Market, the beach at Wells is part of the Holkham Estate. The beautiful sandy beach, with its pine trees, sand dunes and colourful beach huts, is Wells’ most famous feature. There is a large pay-and-display car park, with ice cream van, close to the beach and there is also a café near the beach.
