The White House Burnham Overy Town
This charming 18th century cottage is in the village of Burnham Overy Town, just a mile from Burnham Market which is so perfect for provisions as well as the wealth of glorious shops, places to eat and galleries to visit. Nearby Creake Abbey has a farm shop and cafe.
There are 3 bedrooms upstairs, one king size ensuite, another king size bedroom, and a third bedroom which can either be a twin room or super king, and there is a 2nd bathroom upstairs.
Two comfy sitting rooms are on the ground floor, one with a TV, DVD player, and games, along with WiFi and the second sitting room with a wood burner and plenty of books for those who want a quiet moment,
The large kitchen has a dining end to it, with french doors leading into the courtyard garden.
The cottage is perfectly placed for those who like to walk. There are footpaths straight across fields down to Burnham Overy Staithe, an attractive creek where Lord Nelson learned to sail, with an active sailing club. There are boat rides out to the islands and beaches during the summer. The Hero pub offers great food.
For birdwatchers this is a perfect cottage to stay – the footpaths take you across land which is rich with migratory birds, including the pink foot geese. RSPB Titchwell and Pensthorpe are also a short drive away.
The area is rich with places to visit for days out. For lovers of historic houses and art, Holkham Hall is just a few minutes away – in fact the surrounding farmland at the cottage is owned by Holkham estate. A little further afield is Houghton Hall, and the Royal residence of Sandringham.
The beaches at Burnham Overy, Holkham and Wells with its famous colourful beach huts have miles of beautiful sand and unspoiled views.
